Dota Basic Guide | Power DotA
What is DotA ?
DotA is a game of real-time strategy in which players control a hero chosen early in the game and are divided into two teams (Sentinel and Scourge). The goal of each team is to destroy the core of the enemy base (World Tree and Frozen Throne) through all the obstacles along the way, the enemy heroes, towers and creeps (creatures / troops). During the game as the heroes will fight they will acquire levels (maximum 25) and money that can be used to make powerful items or pay a resurrection faster.
The map:
The map of DotA is divided into 3 lanes of combat (roads), with the bases Sentinel (southwest) and Scourge (northeast) on the ends of the map, a river divides the map into two halves. The map is full of forests with perfect passes to hide and mislead or to ambush an enemy. Each lane is protected by three towers, each team placed over them and protecting their side of the map also regularly (30 in 30 seconds) born creeps marching towards enemy base. All units controlled by Sentinel are represented by red and green of the Scourge. In addition to these creeps and towers, in the woods you can find creeps too, but they are neutral and attack anyone who pass by them. There is also a particular monster (boss) called Roshan, he is very strong and guaranteed prizes to players who kill him.
Runes:
Special magic runes appear regularly in the river, they appear in two places and always the same, each site is positioned at one end of a river.
To better understand how the map DotA advise novices to create maps in Single Player with the option "Aways Visible", put a computer to play against you.
Here are listed the effects of the runes found in the river, all the effects are temporary here:
Illusion: This rune creates an illusionary copy of your hero.
Double Damage: This rune doubles the base damage of your hero.
Haste: This rune causes your hero to run at maximum speed allowed for the game (522).
Regeneration: This rune regenerates HP (life) and MP (mana) of their hero quickly but if you take some damage to the rune will be canceled.
Invisibilit: This rune makes her invisible hero as he only go so far q he use a skill or ability.
The basics:
In endows each base has 6 Barracks (2 in each lane), five towers (one at the entrance to each lane of the base and 2 in the nucleus) and several smaller structures, a Source of Healing and 9 Shops selling recipes and miscellaneous items. And of course the core (for Sentinel World Tree and Frozen Throne for the Scourge).
The barracks are very important because they are destroyed it will make enemies of the lane creeps they lost were stronger if all 6 Barracks base are destroyed then all the enemy creeps will be transformed into Mega Creeps, winning attack, life and very high damage! As you know each lane has three towers and Core 2 towers totaling 11 towers. To destroy the towers and internal structures of the first base you need to bring down the towers from the beginning, while you do it is impossible to attack the enemy base. This is why the towers confer invulnerability to the status of facilities it protects. And not have to destroy all enemy towers to attack the opposing base in the example I gave if you destroy only the third lane from the top of the towers you could only attack the Barracks and the structures corresponding lane above. To destroy the core and must first destroy the last two defense towers.
Ex: While you do not destroy the first tower of the lane above the second tower will be invulnerable to attacks.
The shops:
In shops you can find various items and recipes to combine these items into new and more powerful artifacts, there are altogether 11 shops and 9 found in the base around the Fountain of Healing and 2 that are hidden on the map, one of these shops sell items q can not be purchased on the basis other selling items similar to those found at the base but its location and strategic.
The Source of Healing as the name implies has the ability to heal HP and MP of Heroes coming to it, besides that any enemy unit that comes close it will be attacked by a flurry of chaotic damage.
Heroes:
The game features a wide range of heroes divided into three categories: Int (Intelligence), Agy (Agility) and Str (Strength).
- Int: They usually have a lot of damage spells, very little HP and MP, barring a few rare exceptions.
- Agy: They usually have a lot of attack speed, armor and much much damage but has low HP and low MP.
- Str: They take a lot of HP, a lot of damage but have little mana, attack speed and armor median average.
Each hero has 4 abilities which varies greatly from each other, some are good for making fast money, others are good for killing other enemy heroes, and so on.
There is a hero "Ultimate Weapon" in the game, all heroes have their weaknesses and strengths and for every hero in the game there is another q takes advantage of him in some way and so on and so qo important and knowing how to play well with the hero q you choose.
The team:
The map DotA was made to play matches and 5x5, as has been seen before, there is no 100% perfect hero and why you've got to play a team with your team, one complementing the other hero, for example, if the his hero and slow and has no ability to stun or something so that if your ally who has such skills could use stun on an enemy gives you time to slays him with his damage and special abilities. The combinations of teams and heroes are almost endless and vary greatly from team to team.
The most important rule of DotA is this: play as a team!
And just to finish, score kills and so do not get what wins the game is to destroy the core of the enemy base.
Items:
Items also are very important, they help you in many ways, for example if you are a hero based on Int, has many damage spells to use but little MP to activate these spells that do that such item that increases the MP? And remember that you probably should have such low HP that do item of protection that increases your HP? The same recipe is for heroes, and the range of items too large and the amount of combos and nearly infinite and varies greatly from hero to hero, has items that are excellent for use in a particular hero but useless for others.
For example, if you're playing a hero with q already has a skill that makes him invisible to do an item that does the same thing? It is worth remembering also that certain types of items is good not only to you but also for his team, especially those items that give status or aura healing HP and / or MP.
It is also advised that the good times and change a certain sequence of items for the heroes according to what the game asks. In fact, the second hardest thing to learn in DotA is what sort of items do in a given game (the first and learn to play on time).
Farming:
This is very easy, every 7 seconds you win 8 Gold (this is called Income), for every enemy creep you kill the enemy team is it neutral or confer a bonus Gold for you ranging from creep to creep, for each dead hero too. Q Each time your team destroy an enemy tower all members of the 200th win of Gold (only the last two towers of the nucleus does not confer this bonus.) If Roshan is killed by the members of this team will win 200 Gold. Remember that those who break the tower and kill Roshan gets an average of +200 or +300 Gold without counting the bonus. If you die with his hero loses money and you gotta spend some time at the base waiting to be revived by the game, the amount of money you lose, related to its level (the higher the level the more money you lose dying) and the amount of time you'll be dead too is relative to your level (each level represents May 2 dead).
In extreme cases you can pay instantly be revived with full HP and MP, but also the cost of that revives and on the level (each level represents the 50 gold).
Attention: Roshan born from 10 to 10 minutes into the game in the same place, and each time he comes he gets stronger, kill Roshan provides an Aegis of the Immortal, you relive this magical shield free base unless you lose money or have to wait to be resurrected, but this shield the charges are limited, if you purchase more than 1 second Aegis will merge with the first taking up only one inventory space. From the third time that he also will be reborn Roshan drop a Cheese serving as a powerful healing potion or may be sold for 500 Gold in any shop.
In DotA is impossible to spend money to other players, all items you buy can be resold for half the original price, as the recipes may be sold for 75% of original price.
If for some reason a player leaves the game all your money will be automatically split between all members, if an item is sold using the hero of the player who left the game that too happen. The hero left will continue to win the Gold for August 7 / 2, so that it will automatically be transferred to other players.
If a hero to die units (towers, creeps, etc.) q belong to an army of one time money from his death will be divided among the team members q struggle by the army in question.
If a hero to die Roshan or other neutral creeps nothing will happen.
